Building A Symbiote FastFactory
Its not easy to build a factory. You cant just pull a factory blueprint out of the generic file because no two factories are alike... every one has a unique set of requirements. In many cases, two factories that manufacture the same product could look radically different... and both of them can be just as efficient at producing the product they were built for. Thats why Symbiotes FastFactory solutions approach is such a good idea. Symbiotes UltraFrame, QuadPost and QuadPost PLUS product lines provide the widest range of alternatives for building... not installing... your factory.
While an office can be installed using pre-designed and configured components (panels, desks, chairs, etc.) the factory most often requires a lot more customization. After all, the worker in an office most often sits at a desk with a computer and a telephone. Tasks are more predictable. The individual work station will have the same requirements for most of the workers in the office enviroment. A factory is different. Each worker will most likely have a highly specialized task to perform and the work station must be built to perform that task safely and efficiently. Every work station in a factory will be different... every work station must be customized.
But does that mean the entire factory should be custom-built? After all, the more customization a work station requires, the more expensive it will be to build. With Symbiotes solutions for the InBetween Workplace, pre-designed and configured components are used for the infrastructure of the factory (at the macro level) with customized elements being added at the worker or micro level. Even the pre-designed configurations Symbiote offers for the infrastructure have a wide range of flexililty. And with QuadPost PLUS, our connectors accommodate T-slot extrusion industrial lumber for adding on the most task-specific structures. In many cases 80-90% of the factory can be built with Symbiotes pre-configured elements with only 10-20% requiring custom components.
When the inevitable happens... when the line has to be repurposed for manufacturing a new product... 80-90% of the pieces can be reconfigured for new tasks with only a fraction of the new installation requiring customization.
